Described as one of the loveliest properties in South West France, this magnificent 18th century historic monument is tucked away in the centre of the small Bastide town of Castillonnès.
Following many years of restoration by Jennie and Ron,Hôtel de Cours de Thomazeau has been lovingly brought back to its former glory with the addition of modern comforts that blend in well with the original features of the building.
Alison and Bernd Flemming know a thing or two about food and wine.
Alison Flemming is an award-winning wine professional, the first female Master of Wine in Germany and one of only 131 female Masters of Wine out of a total 382 Masters of Wine world-wide.
Over 1 m bottles sold in Germany sport her signature.
In the wine trade for 30+ years, Alison has a wealth of experience buying, selling and marketing wine. She is an international wine judge and lecturer and also translates wine texts including a book on the iconic Rheingau Estate, Schloss Johannisberg.
Bernd Flemming is a multi-talented professional chef and pâtissier with many years of experience at top Michelin-starred restaurants all over Europe, including The Terrace Restaurant at the Dorchester with 2 stars and the first 3 Michelin-starred restaurant in Italy, Marchesi, in Milan.
With his own Michelin star for 6 years at Grand Hotel Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof in Germany, Bernd is the perfect host for this spectacular gastronomic experience.
The weekend will begin on the Friday evening with a gourmet welcome supper and inspirational wine tasting featuring award-winning wines from Bergerac and beyond.
The experience continues on Saturday evening with a Champagne and Sparkling Wines Masterclass and celebratory dinner.
Many of the wines Alison will be presenting are available through award-winning French wine specialist Yapp Brothers, based in Mere, Wiltshire.
Yapp Brothers are known for finding hidden gems that you simply cannot find anywhere else.
Cost for the weekend with two nights’ accommodation in a double room at Cours de Thomazeau, including breakfast as well as the gourmet supper on Friday and Masterclass and dinner on Saturday, Friday afternoon arrival and Sunday morning departure: €960 per couple
Extension on the room before or after the weekend is €125 per night for bed and breakfast
To enjoy the gourmet supper and Masterclass and dinner on Saturday without accommodation at Hotel Cours de Thomazeau is €280 per person.
